A severe winter storm, bringing snow, sleet, and icy conditions, has led to major disruptions in North Carolina. Governor Josh Stein declared a statewide state of emergency as Charlotte and the surrounding areas brace for the impact. At Charlotte Douglas International Airport (North Carolina), teams are working tirelessly with nearly 40 snow removal and deicing vehicles to minimize delays. Despite these efforts, 104 flights have been canceled or delayed, affecting 39 flights from major airlines including PSA Airlines, American Airlines, Piedmont, United, Envoy Air, Mesa, Contour Airlines, Endeavor Air, and Delta.

Travelers are strongly encouraged to stay in touch with their airlines for updates, as operations at Charlotte/Douglas are likely to be impacted by ongoing icy conditions.

Passengers with mobility needs are advised to use rideshare services from designated zones. Despite ongoing snow-clearing efforts, 82 flights were delayed or canceled, affecting major airlines such as Southwest, United, SkyWest, American Airlines, Delta, Mesa, Air Canada, and British Airways.
